At 5:34 AM local time in Baghdad on March 20, the United States and United Kingdom forces consisting of 40 cruise missiles and strikes led by F-117s and other aircraft began conducting military operations against the state of Iraq designed to disarm Iraq of its weapons of mass destruction and to remove the Iraqi Regime from power. Based on this event, a horoscope has been erected based to determine the likely outcome of the military operation against the state of Iraq. The method for delineation is derived from Guido Bonatti electional rules of medieval warfare where 1st house is given to the attacking party - the United States and British forces, and the country being attacked - Iraq, is the 4th house. The opposing party, Saddam Hussein, is represented by the 7th house.

The Moon co-rules the 1st house and makes its next and last aspect by trine to Saturn. This is a fortuitous testimony for the United States and coallition forces, indicating that success will be achieved by careful and steady implementation of its war plan over the duration of its military operations against Iraq.

Below is a breakdown and analysis of the horary event horoscope:

The 1st House: Denotes the general conduct of the affairs of the United States and whether the cause for war is just. The ruler of 1st house Jupiter is in Leo (retrograde and in a cadent house), trines the Sun, sextiles Fortuna, and opposes Neptune. This indicates that the justification for war based on evidence of Saddam's possession of weapons of mass destruction and a threat to United States national security is mixed at best. However, Jupiter in Mutual Reception with Sun indicates that the United States has the necessary military and political means to achieve its objectives.

The 2nd House: Is the friends and allies of the United States. Ruler of 2nd House, Mars, is in an Angular House, squares Fortuna, and is in Exaltation. This testimony above also implies that the United States will have ample resources and means to conduct an effective military coalition for its campaign.

The 3rd House: Is the provisioning of the United States armed forces, meaning the quality of the enlisted soldiers and service men and women. The ruler of 3rd House Venus is in a Cadent House. Venus trines Saturn, and conjuncts Uranus. This indicates that the soldiers and service men and women of the United States and its coalition partners are a well-trained, effective, highly motivated fighting force.

The 4th House: Shows the conditions and ground where the war will be fought and the quality of its fortifications, military installations, guns, and weapons. In this instance the nation of Iraq. The ruler of 4th House, Mercury, is in an Angular House, conjuncts Sun (Combust, Sextile the North Node and in Detriment). This testimony indicates that the quality of Iraq's fortifications and military installations are in decline and Saddam's command structure is likely to collapse early on in the war do to massive air assaults and missile strikes. Saddam will to attempt to launch his chemical arsenal early on in the war that could possibly slow down the U.S. ground offensive by keeping forces in their chemical/biological suits for long stretches. However, it is likely that Iraqi planned military defense will likely be rendered ineffectual by decisive and violent bombing strikes against Saddam's troops - the Iraqi Republican Guard, and fortifications.

The 5th House: Shows the ability of the military command and soldiers United States armed forces to successfully carry out and achieve its missions. In this instance, the military conquest of Iraq and its liberation from the despotic regime. The ruler of 5th House the Moon is in an Angular House, trines Saturn, and trines Uranus. This indicates that the ability of the U.S. military and its coalition forces to successfully carry out its mission that being - to liberate Iraq from Saddam's regime, and disarm Iraq from weapons of mass destruction - is excellent due the speed, firepower, and massive technological advantages of U.S. and coalition forces.

The 6th House: Shows the quality and war fighting capability of the United States armed forces military equipment, tanks, missiles, carriers, jets, aircraft, specialized weapons, etc., that will be employed in war. Ruler of 6th House, the Sun, is in an Angular House, in Mutual Reception with Jupiter, conjunct Mercury, trines Jupiter, sextiles North Node. This indicates that the war fighting capability of the U.S. forces and its allies are second-to-none in the world. American soldiers are well-equipped and trained to deal with chemical weapons, fighting alongside sophisticated robotic sensors, chemical detection vehicles, and biological mobile labs.

The 7th House: Indicates the enemy: Saddam Hussein and the nation of Iraq, and the ability of the enemy to conduct war. The ruler of 7th House Mercury, is in an Angular House, conjuncts and combust the Sun, in Detriment, and sextiles North Node. Saddam's likely strategy once war begins is to order Iraqi troops to retreat into the country's major cities, especially in the urban density of Baghdad, in the hope that pursuing U.S. forces would suffer major casualties in street-by-street combat. Saddam could suffer severe injuries in the early phase of the war and lose contact with his military commanders. The hellish storm of precision-guided arms simultaneously slamming into targets across Iraq will psychologically crack Saddam Hussein's troops and sap them of their will to fight. It is likely that Saddam's attempt to deploy weapons of mass destruction within his reach in a desperate attempt, to slow the advance of American forces.

The 8th House: Indicates the amount of death and loss suffered by the United States resulting from the war. The ruler of 8th house, Venus,  is in a Cadent House, trines Saturn, conjuncts Uranus. Causalities for U.S. ground and coalition forces will be relatively low.

The 9th House: Shows how the enemy will operate by misinformation, using false intelligence and reports to devise military strategy. Ruler of 9th House, Mars, is in an Angular House and is in Exaltation. This indicates that Saddam's military leadership will be using intelligence from field commanders to devise tactics and strategy to stall U.S. forces.

The 10th House: Shows the ability of the Commander-in-Chief, as well as the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The ruler of 10th House Jupiter, is in a Cadent House, retrograde, trines the Sun, Jupiter opposes Neptune. The 10th House Cusp Trines Fortuna and Mars is in the 10th House, exalted. This indicates that the ability of the Commander-in-Chief of all armed forces, President Bush, has the means and ability to wage a strong and effective military campaign against Iraq, but may have difficulty in responding and acting decisively to developments that will occur during the course of the military campaign.

The 11th House: Shows the ability of the head of U.S. Central Command General Tommy Franks, and the lesser military commanders of war
operations. Ruler of 11th House, Saturn, trines Moon, trines Venus, trines Uranus, and the Moon will lastly trine Ruler of 11th House: This indicates that General Tommy Franks and U.S. special force teams will have full operational control on the ground in Iraq from the very outset of the U.S. led military offensive.

The 12th House: Shows the possible errors, mistakes, and military blunders the United States military could make during its campaign. Ruler of 12th House, Saturn, trines Moon, trines Venus, trines Uranus, and the Moon will lastly trine Ruler of 12th House. This indicates the Pentagon planners and military commanders - CENTCOM - will likely avoid making any major military blunders during the Iraqi campaign.

Conclusion: Chance of Successful Invasion: 89 percent
Time frame of military operations: 28 days.
