2008 Minnesota Senate Recount - UPDATED
Franken vs. Coleman
posted January 1, 2009
The still-undecided Senate election in Minnesota appeared to be entering the home stretch hinging on more than 1,350 absentee ballots that were incorrectly rejected by local precinct officials. However, the canvassing board wonРІР‚в„ўt have those absentee ballots counted until January 5th. Р’В So who will win the Minnesota Senate recount that is expected to be decided by January 5th?
Al Franken currently leads Senator Norm Coleman by 49 votes after the manual review of more than 2.9 million ballots. The latest Rasmussen Markets data gives Norm Coleman only a 13% chance of retaining his Senate seat. Therefore, challenger Al Franken is assigned 1st house as the favorite, and Senator Norm Coleman is assigned the 7th house as the underdog. The Moon rules the contested uncounted discarded and absentee ballots. The 10th house rules the prize: the Minnesota Senate Seat.

In the horoscope Taurus rises, therefore Venus rules the 1st house of the Franken campaign. Venus is peregrine but has moderate strength being placed in the benefic 11th house and has reception with Saturn (ruler of the Midheaven) by rulership and triplicity.
Scorpio is on the Descendant, therefore Mars rules the 7th house. Mars is exalted by sign and has moderate strength, but is placed in the malefic 8th house, conjunct Pluto, also a malefic, and going from combustion from the Sun. These are unfortunate testimonies for the Coleman campaign.
Conclusion: Venus will shortly ingress into Pisces – the sign of her exaltation, and trine Pluto, fortuitous testimonies for the Franken campaign, indicating that the outcome of the  protracted Minnesota recount will favor the former Saturday Night Live comedian.
Projected Certified Winner: Al Franken

(Associated Press) ST. PAUL, Minn. – Al Franken ascended Tuesday from the ranks of former "Saturday Night Live" comedians to an even more exclusive club, outlasting Republican Norm Coleman in an eight-month recount and courtroom saga to win a seat in the U.S. Senate.
Coleman conceded the election hours after a unanimous state Supreme Court ruled that Franken — who moved into politics with books poking fun at conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh — should be certified the winner. In doing so, he pulled the plug on a bitter election that was ultimately decided by 312 votes out of nearly 2.9 million cast. (Jun. 30, 2009)
